    • The new site offered free parking, first class hotel rooms, and even a great pool and exercise room
  • 32 GMs, 18 IMs, 21 FMs, and 177 players in the International Section, from 28 countries
  • GM Pavel Blatny of the Czech Republic scored 8 out of 9 points, the highest winning percentage in New York Open history, to win $10,000.
